California Dreaming : A Review of Palm Springs

Sunshine & Snow - it Has it All

f.w.
Palm Springs was the international playground of Hollywood's Rat pack back in the 1950's. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and many famous people were regulars and celebs still hang out there today. However, you don't have to be a star in order to enjoy an action-packed, sunbathing or ski vacation. Palm Springs offers some of the best restaurants and hotels and my particular favorite hotel is The Springs at Palm Springs (www.thespringsofps.com).

If you like food then being close to the border you have to try real Mexican food at La Casita where an average meal for two costs a mere $30. If you fancy something a little bit more refined try Copley's and make sure to book an outside table where you can sip a cocktail while the sun goes down www.palmsprings.com/dine/copleys.

Just a few things you should try is a wonderful baloon ride by Fantasy Balloon Flights www.fantasybaloonflights.com. If, however, you like to keep your feet on terra firma then take a Hummer tour of Joshua Tree National Park www.elitelandtours.com. If you are going to try the baloon ride, select an evening when the weather is calm as they won't fly if it is windy.

Other adventures to try in Sunny California is a dune buggy ride into the desert. Blast your way across the Coachella Valley or try hopping onto a cable car which climb into the mountains which has 3 feet of snow to play in. Trial riding in the canyons and bike riding through the San Andreas Fault is another exceptional way to see this beautiful place. In the evenings, after a fun packed day of adventure, a great place for Mexican food is La Casita.

So no matter what you are looking for on a vacation; whether sunbathing by the pool, going for a ski in 3ft snow, buggy riding, sunset on a baloon ride, blasting across the valley or simply looking at the scenery from the cable car, Palm Springs has it all. A place to have a wonderful adventure or simply just to chill out. A wonderful vacation spot.
