California Wins Case for Carcinogens in Potato Chips

My Hats off to California for for fighting the cancer battle in potato chips, but... lets get real here. I love the fact that I see tobacco and other consumable items have warnings on them that say, "This product contains additive that the state of California has found to cause cancer", or something similar to this. So what are we supposed to do, eat raw potatoes and raw meat and face the dangers of E-coli, Salmonella, and other potentially dangerous diseases?

Acrylamide is a carcinogeous, (cancer causing), by-product of cooking starchy foods at high temperatures, and it even forms in the process of cooking meats and other foods. It is there, and there isn't much you can do about it, especially in your own home. Baked Potato anyone? California wins the case for carcinogens in potato chips and four companies have been named, H.J. Heinz Co., Frito-Lay, Kettle Foods Inc., and Lance Inc. in a 3 million dollar settlement and action taken to reduce the amount of Acrylamide in potato chips over the next three years.

I wish all the states, or better yet the FDA would step up and do their job so we would not have to depend on California to determine what is safe, but California, as long as you are battling for the health of citizens in your quest for a monetary settlement, how about attacking some real offenders. How about warning labels on all products that contain MSG? Some companies put MSG in under the term, "Other natural and artificial flavors". People who are sensitive or allergic to MSG can suffer the consequences when they consume these products and their labeling of it is not always so up front. How about vaccine manufacturers, they are using Neurotoxins, carcinogens, and even ingredients like Polysorbate 80 which when injected into prepubescent female rats sterilizes them from having off spring? That is the first ingredient of chemicals on Gardasil which is focused at young women beginning with prepubescent girls! C'mon California, think of the settlement you could get from these conglomerates, it might be worth more than the lobby money they are giving you willingly to turn your head the other way.

Many children today are suffering from Neurological damage and learning disabilities that may in fact be directly related to Mercury, Aluminum, Formaldehyde, Polysorbate 80 and a host of other ingredients that are being injected into their little bodies in higher and higher quantities every year.

According to the EPA, Acrylamide is a "Probable carcinogen in humans", not a definite, but probable. There are no real studies on this yet, and humans have been enjoying cooked foods for thousands of years. One report I read stated, you are more likely to choke on your potato chips before the acrylamide will kill you.

California, if you are really concerned about human health, there are bigger fish to fry than a bag of potato chips. Can you prove that anyone has died from eating potato chips other than choking? Despite all the statistical increases in damage to children from vaccines that correlates with the increases in vaccine requirements, the manufacturers use that same argument, You can't prove this caused the damage, besides they are protected by the Federal Government in vaccine injury lawsuits so they have a free hand to put anything in their vaccines. Lets fight the real fight for health and safety, then we can maybe determine how to cook foods without creating a Possible carcinogen during the cooking process.

  • There are bigger fish to fry out there than a bag of potato chips.
  • If we eat raw food we face the dangers of salmanilla and other dangers illnesses
  • Vaccines contain carcinogens, neurotoxins, mutagens and teratogens, why not go after them?

it does seem like every other news story says they discovered something else that can cause cancer. I think warnings are good, but more importantly, not forcing things such as vaccines is better.
