Of course the single player campaign mode is back, and this time it is more like a war/action movie than ever. The missions are intense, and the improved engine generate the most compelling and vast environments such as the mountains of Kazakhstan, and the streets of Rio de Janeiro.
In COD4 2, the environment is emphasized with weather effects, destructibility and people.
Many of the same weapons have returned from COD4, but there include many new and vicious weapons that can be unlocked and found.
The only prominent con about the campaign is the length. It is short. But the game has its intense visual effects, with more intelligent enemy AI.
The multiplayer aspect of the game is one to be reckoned with. The coop mode is compatible with the campaign. Multiplayer this time emphasizes largely on team play, locally and online.
My personal favorite mode in Multiplayer is SpecOps, I won't reveal too much about it, or else you won't buy the game. But the large emphasis on teamwork is important.
In Multiplayer, many times, one player will be found operating a vehicle while the other is operating a weapon of some sort.
The competitive online multiplayer is a spectacle of wonder. The visual effects is what separates the first Modern Warfare from the second. There is a larger battle environment, more intense locales, more things to be blown up, and the physics rendering is near perfect.
The kill streak awards have returned from the first Modern Warfare. Now there are new rewards for having prolonged kill streaks. When you hit 25 kills, you get to nuke the entire game, and often times, this ensures victory. There are more equipment to use, and the balance of the game was perfectly handled by Infinity Ward.
There is more leeway in the new game, in missions, you will find that there are so many more allowed areas. There is just more diversity for the player to experience. Modern Warfare 2's Multiplayer is a complete upgrade from the first.
When you look at everything together, this game has what it takes to be rated as one of the best fps's in the game. This game to me was definitely worth the wait.
