The storyline in Call of Duty 4 is unique and very interesting. The story starts with a Russian ultra-nationalist, named Zakhaev, whose goal is to bring back the Soviet Union. Basically, Zakhaev starts a civil war in the Middle-East with the hopes of trapping U.S. forces. Meanwhile, British forces have been tracking Zakhaev and have evidence that explains Zakhaev hidden motives for starting the civil war. British Intelligence warns the U.S. of Zakhaev plans, and as a result the war starts.
The game play varies from fast pace attacks, all-out gun fights, to a slower pace attack such as: stealth attacks. Although there are slow moments in the game, those moments are still intense and will keep you sitting on the edge of you seat, or couch, the whole time. Players will also notice that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare references many present-day political points such as the: War in Iraq and the use of airplanes by terrorists.
One of the best features of Call of Duty 4 is the use of multi-player. Multi-player has always been an important feature in the Call of Duty series of games. An important factor in multi-player that differs from the other games in the series is that more weapons will continue to be unlocked as the player gains more experience in the multi-player mode. Also, in addition to weapons be unlocked, more character models and weapons skins will be unlocked as experience increases.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a must-have for any video game player. The developer, Infinity Ward, did an awesome job at fixing many problems associated with the other games in the series. The graphics are spectacular, during some points in the game you feel as if you are really there on the battleground fighting for your country. It took awhile for this game to be released, but all of the time that they spent working on the game is definitely worth it. I feel as if Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare can definitely compete with some of the more popular first person shooter video games, such as: Halo 3, Medal of Honor, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, etc. Players who enjoy astonishing, entertaining, and suspenseful first person shooter video games should go out and buy Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and add another excellent title to their video game library.
