Call of Duty 5: World at War Release Date

Call of Duty 4 was one of biggest hits of the 2007 gaming season with its incredibly intense war-based game play, photo-realistic graphics, and intense, customizable online modes.

Now, Call of Duty 5: World at War is set to come out on November 9, 2008 and it should be a big hit for fans of first-person shooters yet again on the XBox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii consoles.

Call of Duty 5 aims to be even more intense and realistic than ever before in delivering a true sense of the chaos that soldiers experience in the middle of a war situation. New co-op modes are one of the game's biggest draws.

2008 an early release date?

November 2008 seems like kind of an early release date for the new Call of Duty game considering that many thousands of people are still hooked on Call of Duty 4 and still play all of the online modes like crazy. Call of Duty 4's online modes offer a lot of leveling up that keeps the game from getting stale as people attempt to go for new medals and to gain golden weapons and complete difficult challenges while also competing in clans and competing to get better scorers in terms of kill ratios and win totals.

That kind of depth means that Call of Duty 4 players are likely to still be playing the game in November when Call of Duty: World at War comes out, but the new Call of Duty game is still projected to sell a ton of copies nonetheless. Call of Duty is a long-running franchise with a proven track record of success so most players are not worried at all about whether or not the game will live up to the hype of previous games in the Call of Duty series.
