Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer and Wager Match Updates

Treyarch's Game to Be Released in November Excites Gamers

Call of Duty:Black Ops will be released on November 9, 2010. Treyarch's multiplayer game comes equipped with newly redesigned wager matches, a currency system, and more. What's more is that there are reports that Treyarch intends on keeping COD:Black Ops' multiplayer features FREE forever. Of course, you have to purchase the game. However, many competitors include with a game a one-time key to unlock features, or will only allow the registered official owner to use features using their online account.

Such moves are made in an attempt to keep gamers purchasing new games, instead of trading games or borrowing them from friends.

The folks out at Treyarch see things a bit differently, and I think it will pay off in the long run. After all, people get a sour taste in their mouth when they are taken for a ride!

Soft Sailor reports that a Treyarch executive has been quoted as saying "The studio's head also assured us that Treyarch plans on "supporting the hell" out of Call of Duty: Black Ops. "That will be our focus post-release: making sure we keep our fans engaged, and hopefully as a result, they'll want to keep playing our game and won't want to trade it in."

Awesome.

Also awesome about this release is the wager matches. Now, if you're like me and like taking a risk every once and a while this will be perfect for you. The new release of Black Ops has a re-designed in-game currency. This allows you to essentially gamble (they say wager) your currency in order to purchase special in-game weapons, features, etc.

Considering that Modern Warfare 2 had a record-setting $3.27 million launch last year, this release has a lot to live up to. However, with the multiplayer capabilities, and wager matches along with other features present in this franchise, it's bound to be a success.
