Call of Duty: Black Ops: How to Unlock "Dead Ops" Arcade

Blair Mathis
The Call of Duty: Black Ops video game comes with a hidden game called Dead Ops, a simple zombie-themed game where you run around and kill as many zombies as you can while collecting various shiny items. The entire game is viewed from an areal position, and though the beginning looks like an 8-bit arcade game, the rest is quite splendidly graphic with high definition zombie slaughter goodness. All 40 rounds of it.

How Do I Unlock Dead Ops?

Go to the Main Menu screen. Alternate pressing the left and right triggers until your man breaks out of the chair. Walk to the CIA terminal (computer) behind the TV to your left. Press "X". Enter "DOA", then press "A". Dead Ops will appear.

The game starts easy enough - you have a gun, there are some zombies, and you shoot them. It gets progressively harder, though, until it seems like zombies are spawning at the rate similar to that of rabbits. In between the killing mayhem, you've also got to remember to collect the treasure (which you do by walking over them; keeps your hands free for trigger-pulling and whatnot).

Less you get the mistaken impression that Dead Ops is a short-lived game, understand this: Dead Ops is like getting an entire Call of Duty game for free. There's 40 rounds, which are like 40 levels. You have a variety of time-limited weapons that will appear. Fail to get them in the appropriate amount of time, they'll disappear and you'll be screwed. You'll have access to flamethrowers, RPGs, M60, even something called the Death Machine, which is basically a machine gun on steroids.

The zombies aren't a one-size-fit-all kind of corpse, either. There's nazi zombies, prisoner zombies, engineer zombies (they randomly fall from the sky, which is kind of weird), these things that look like Bigfoot and don't have a name, creepy crawlers, cosmic silverbacks, hell hounds, and many more. Nightmares will be had. Blood will flow.

Dead Ops Cheats

Enter " 3ARC UNLOCK" into the CIA terminal to unlock all the zombie maps at one time. Yes, there's more than one. Yes, they're all equally as awesome.
