If you're reading this without any knowledge of the game and the series, here is a quick overview. Call of Duty (COD) Modern Warfare 2 is sequel to great line of games coming out from Infinity Ward. Guns, guns, guns, and a grenade or two is what this game is about. Team work and the occasional Rambo playstyle is what makes this game fast paced and exciting. Here are the stats.
Graphics and Audio 24/25
Here is one of the great aspects of the game. Jumping right into mission or multiplayer puts you right into great settings that are so detailed. For example, there is a stage in the middle of a small town with abandoned buildings, you can go in almost all of them and the roofs are totally accessible. Destructible settings such as fire hydrants, plants, and cars really take it far in terms of graphics and just make the game look so authentic. Audio is really important to first person shooters. Think about it, sneakin' around looking for enemies listening to gun shots, explosions, and footsteps. All of which gives their position away and gives you the upper hand in battle. Besides the great sound effects the over all voicing is pretty nice too. Hearing your teammates shout out phrases such as "Throwing a flash bang!" or "Reloading, cover me." really helps you get into the mood and at the same time informs you of what your allies are up to at the moment. You know your in trouble when you hear tons of screams and see that you're missing people.
Gameplay 24/25
What can I say about this that hasn't already been said? Some people might think it's the same thing over and over. For example, you run, shoot, die, run to the same spot, shoot, die, and repeat. Though this might be true for the more monotonous players out there looking for a quick casual game, there are many, many factors in the game that changes the game so much and stands out from the other shooters out there. The control are as smooth as it will ever get with controllers, with adjustable sensitivity. Tons of game modes to experience such as: team death match, capture the flag, sabotage, headquarters, search and destroy, and trust me, lots more. With so many guns and perks and add-ons, there are so many possibilites to come up with.
Creativity 22/24
On with the creativity. Prestige mode is back and tougher than ever. Prestige goes along with your overall points you earn in multiplayer mode. You gain points and earn ranks with award you with new challenges, guns, perks, and more. Once you hit a certain rank you restart again keeping some earned accessories, but this time with even more challenges. Only the hardcore gamers who stay up night after night will ever dream about finishing the prestige system. Perks, these are what makes you different than other players. These are enough to change the game but not destroy gameplay. These perks alter the way a player can inflict with explosions, run, survive, reload, and oh so much more.
Fun 25/25
Really? You read up to this point? What are you doing? Go play this game right now. Trust me, this will be a experience you won't soon, and probably ever forget. Call of duty Modern Warfare 2 is just awesome. Tell me you didn't know at least 5 friends who waited until the midnight release to get it?

Post a CommentHah! Are you joking? Maybe you had a bad experience with it. Don't blame the game.
But, to each his own. =p
What? This game is shit... No dedicated servers, unbalanced weaponry, many bugs, repetitive gameplay, I could go on. It's seemingly popular among people who haven't played all that much FPS in their lives, the ideas are original from their perspective.
