Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood Tips and Tricks

Skyler Raine
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is a prequel to the popular gunslinger game, Call of Juarez. Set years before the original, it follows the story of the McCall brothers as they make their way through the post Civil War American west. The eldest brothers, Ray and Thomas, are playable and both come with their own strengths and weaknesses. Add in 13 classes for the Multiplayer mode and plenty of side quests and you have an engaging and challenging Wild West world to indulge in. Here are some tips and tricks to make the rough road a slightly easier ride.

Some people have trouble getting through the stage coach ambush in Chapter 3. The best strategy is to face the back of the coach as you're riding to get a better shot at the enemies. They'll come to you in three waves, making things easier to predict. The first three will be on the right side, then two will come up on the left, and finally three more on the right. Another way to make this section easier is to play as Ray and use his dynamite against the bandits.

If you find yourself dying during the demolition in Chapter 12, here are a few tips to avoid that grisly death. Set up two pieces of dynamite on the opposite side from where you approach the large rock to start. Then plant only one piece on the other side. From here, you'll have 10 seconds to make your escape. Just keep running the whole time to avoid the blast zone.

As you play through the game, side missions in various Free Worlds will open up. In different missions you will be either a bounty hunter on the offensive or a hired gun providing defense. There will be a central town with a trader and then a surrounding wilderness. As you explore the area outside of town, be aware of bandits lurking around the trails. Occasionally they will ambush NPCs and there might be rewards for the Good Samaritan that saves them. There are also extra chests available in side missions containing money, ammo, dynamite, or occasionally plot related items such as artwork or memories.

It takes a good chunk of money to unlock the use of silver and gold weapons in Multiplayer mode. Silver weapons are achieved at $200,000 but it will take you $1,000,000 to unlock the gold weapons. Ranked play counts towards these goals and reaching them will also award you with Achievements on the 360 version.

Want to make the game a little easier? Enter the cheat code 735S653J in the main menu in the option for Exclusive Content on the PC and Xbox 360 versions to unlock extra money for equipment and characters, gain silver weapons for multiplayer mode, and an exclusive weapon for the first two chapters of the game.
