Often your child's debut into social interaction amongst his or her peers, preschool is an exciting and adventurous new time for youngsters. Preschool is where structural learning begins. Children learn how to learn in preschool and those that attend a good program enter the public school arena better equipped to accept the demands that are soon put on them. No other preschool in Charlotte, North Carolina has a broader range of learning topics then Calvary Child Development Center.

Like most preschools in the area, Calvary is based on Christian beliefs; however children from all religions are welcome and encouraged to practice their own beliefs. Calvary's programs are centered around the traditional preschool curriculum of circle time, story time, play time and arts and crafts, but this school takes it a step further. Dramatic play classes often involve engaging dance activities and use song to combine movement with learning. Children begin learning Spanish with a specialized language teacher. Age appropriate science classes offer kids a chance to get an up close view and a broader understanding of things like sea life. Hay rides, visits to a pumpkin patch, a day on the water slides and checking out a real fire engine and police car are all part of a year at Calvary, and at the end of the year you'll receive a small photo album of your child's exciting adventures.

Calvary's warm and caring teachers are completely involved with their students, and children quickly grow to love and trust their instructors. The kids are handled with love and respect - everyone in touch with the children seem to actually love working with these budding young minds and strive to help them achieve their best in every way. Hot meals can be purchased for lunch or you can provide your child's own lunchbox meal. Milk is also available, and snacks are provided by the school as part of their tuition. Calvary also offers before and after care for children, provided by loving caregivers in a well supervised indoor play arena. Parents are consistently made aware of events that they should attend and their participation in classroom parties is encouraged.

Art projects that come home are inventive, soon to become precious treasures. A spare change plate has replaced the old standby ashtray that kids used to make. Projects that use an imprint of your child's hand create a wide array of one-of-a-kind gifts suitable for grandparents as Christmas presents. The Christmas show and parade are adorable, as is the Easter parade in the spring.

There are definitely less expensive preschools in the area but it is certainly true that you get what you pay for. Calvary is preschool excellence. Calvary presents itself as a welcoming and loving center for your child to embark on his or her first learning experience, with lots of extras that the other schools just don't offer. There is no better place in the Charlotte area then Calvary Child Development Center.
