Upon the waves
Breaking on the shores of my heart
Smashing rocks that turn to sand
I'll never know
Why the birds were tweeting softly
Whispering lies from branches
So disaffected
Cut off from the world outside me
Wrapped in a shroud of white noise
Am I still alive?
When you left my heart went missing
I still can't feel it beating.
