Cambria Rowe Business College

New Student Information and Advice

Although you are attending college to become more successful and better yourself I can be very stressful at times. Activities outside of the classroom can be a huge stress reliever. Attending Cambria Rowe Business College in Johnstown, PA I found different places around town to help me relax while attending school. College is stressful enough, and you shouldn't have to worry about the simple things like what place is cheap enough that I can eat at each semester but still have money for books and tuition. I will share with you my findings from my experiences with these same dilemmas and thoughts.

Food and Drink- During school

Although, Cambria Rowe is an excellent school, they do not have a regular scheduled prepared meals cafeteria like most campuses would. They offer a few vending machines and allow for a food business to come in once a week to sell to the students. (When I was there it was usually Domino's Pizza). As a result of my previous statement most students are left to fend for themselves at the time of lunch.

Within walking distance of the school there are a few dining options.

1. Sheets

2. Bilo grocery store

3. Tops diner

4. Franco's Family Restaurant

5. Surf and Turf Inn

Places to order take out from during your lunch hour- will deliver to school

1. Domino's Pizza- 814-535-3030 http://www.dominos.com/home/index.jsp

- Call before 12 to insure that you will get your food delivered in time for lunch. Recommend by 10.

2. Franco's Family Restaurant-(814) 536-5110‎

3. Szechuan Chinese Restaurant-(814) 535-8845- www.yellowbook.com/profile/szechuan-chinese-restaurant_1845586842.html?addressId=1&tab=menu

- (I always ordered from here! A great selection and awesome food, I highly recommend this restaurant.)

Have a bad day at class, or just want to enjoy a few drinks with some friends after school, but want to be safe and not drive. Here are a few bars located close to the school.

Bars walking distance from college, my recommendation.

1. Tulune's Southside Tavern

www.southsidesaloon.com

- (814) 536-1001

(Have drank and ate here numerous times, a great atmosphere, people, and menu selections. For those of you whole like imported or micro beers, this is the place for you!)

I know firsthand what it was like to be new, and unfamiliar with your college surroundings. It makes your life a little easier when you have some information at your finger tips! A whirl wind of anxiety and stress can be triggered by the simplest of matters when you are overwhelmed with college matters. The comforts of food and drink consumption are not going to be one of them for you! Enjoy, and be safe! Good luck!
