Camel Rides, Elephant Rides and More at Southwick Zoo in Mendon, MA
This is Not Only a Zoo but They Have Rides and Games Here Too

They have an area for kids to play in sand boxes and slides it is so fun for the kids. When you first walk in you can see some animals like the birds, turtles, and there is a food court. In the center of this zoo there is rides, lions, zebras, walking deer forest, and some other animals to see. At the end of the zoo towards your way out there is a food court, camel rides, elephant rides, and the gift shop. This place is very big and there is so much to do here. It is great to spend the day so bring your picnic basket and cooler and have fun. Rates Children under is free Children 3 to 12 is $10.75 Adults 13 and up is $15.00 62 and up is $10.75 If you go online they have a $2 coupon for one person. You can buy seasonal packs here as well.
Some rides they have here are the pony rides, camel rides, elephant rides, big slide and train ride. Train ride you have to wait about 30 minutes for it to come back. As of Sept 6, 2005- October 23, 2005 they will only be opened on weekends. From Rhode Island: Take Route 146 North to the Route 16 East (Uxbridge/Douglas) Exit. Follow Route 16 traveling East into Mendon. Once in Mendon, turn right at the Shell gas station. Follow the road for 4 miles. Take a right at the Southwick's sign. From Boston: Take Mass Pike West to 495 South. Take 495 South to Exit 20 Milford/Uxbridge (Route 85 to route 16).
Take Route 85 South to Route 16 traveling West. Follow Route 16 traveling West into Mendon. Once in Mendon, turn left at the Shell gas station. Follow the road for 4 miles. Take a right at the Southwick's sign. You can not bring your pet into the zoo. They are having a Haunted Mansion House for children this Halloween and I can not wait they will have games and hay rides too. This is going to be so much fun for children. Come see what is going on here you won't regret it.
