Avalon High stars Britt Robertson and Gregg Sulkin, as current day high school students. Robertson portrays Allie, a new student at Avalon High, who notices that her classmates are similar to the characters of Camelot. Allie comes to believe that it is up to her to solve the mystery and save Avalon High from the same tragic fate that befell Camelot.
The Legend of Camelot
Camelot has been a mystery for generations. The story of good King Arthur, Queen Guinevere and Sir Lancelot has enchanted children and adults. King Arthur was the creator of the Knights of the Round Table, a table with no head, so everybody seated at the table was considered equal. Camelot was an idyllic land, which may have existed on the western coast of Great Britain.
King Arthur loved Queen Guinevere, but the queen fell in love with Sir Lancelot. The story was a classic love triangle that may have brought down a kingdom. There was deception and intrigue by people who wanted to destroy the kingdom. Mordred, a traitor, was the villain of the legend. Merlin was the legendary wizard, who guided King Arthur.
Avalon High
Allie (Britt Robertson) is the new girl at Avalon High. Her parents are traveling professors, so she is excited to be starting a normal life by attending one high school. It turns out that Avalon High is anything but normal. While Allie researches the legend of Camelot for a term paper, she notices similarities between the characters in the legend and some of the Avalon High School students.
The high school quarterback, Will (Gregg Sulkin), may be King Arthur. Jen (Molly Quinn), a cheerleader and Will's girlfriend, seems similar to Queen Guinevere. Lance (Chris Tavarez), is their best friend and could be the counterpart to Sir Lancelot. Marco (Devon Graye) is Will's brooding step-brother. Miles (Joey Pollari) has premonitions, so could be the counterpart to Merlin the Magician. The football players act like the legendary knights of the round table.
The cast of Avalon High also includes Don Lake as Allie's dad and Steve Valentine as Mr. Moore.
Avalon High is an original Disney movie based on the novel by Meg Cabot (The Princess Diaries). Avalon High will air on Disney Channel cable television network.
