Camera Phones

Not too long ago, the thought of being able to take a high quality, full color picture on your ordinary cellular phone would have never even crossed one's mind; let alone the thought of taking video complete with sound and all. But with today's generation of cell phones, dubbed "smartphones" for their vast capabilities beyond the ordinary cell phone, the camera phone has become more popular than ever. And in fact, it has soared in popularity so quickly that nearly every cell phone on the market today includes complete functionality as a camera phone.

And now that we have the luxury of being able to take a picture or capture video from our personal camera phone, it is hard to imagine how we ever lived life without it. But there are so many common, everyday events that one is suddenly able to capture thanks to the advance features of today's camera phone technology.

- Nature. Have you ever been walking through the woods, or even down the street for that matter, and came upon a rare bird, animal, or plant? In days past you would have to be fully equipped with a professional camera in order to capture a picture of such an amazing sight - but with a camera phone, the ability to capture a memorable and beautiful keepsake is right in your very own pocket.

- Children. Those who are parents already know how many great moments there are to be enjoyed with a child; but what about those occasions when you just don't have a camera handy? In this day and age, nearly everybody has their camera phone nearby at all times which makes it easier to snap those one-of-a-kind, unforgettable shots.

- Sports and concerts. Before, bringing photography equipment into a sports arena or a concert venue was not only a hassle, but it was even banned in many establishments worldwide. With the invention of the modern camera phone, however, this isn't an issue. And because of this, you can capture photographs and even video from your favorite athletes and musician live and in person; all thanks to the rapidly advancing camera phone technology of the 21^st century.

As you can see, camera phone technology has come a long way in a very short period of time - and today you would be hard pressed to find a cell phone without such functionality. As far as what the future holds for camera phone technology - that is anybody's guess.
