When Caminito opened in November of 2010, I made plans to check it out. We have been hearing a lot of buzz about it, but still didn't know too much about the food, staff, etc. We decided to visit on a Saturday night and found out that they offer live music, which was a real perk because we weren't expecting it. The staff told us that the food was a combination of Argentinian and Italian. I couldn't make the connection between the two, but the person explained that there is an area in Argentina that's home to a large population of Italian people.

We started our dinner off with the calamari, which was delicious and not at all chewy and rubbery like some calamari can be, and then I ordered the Empanadas. The portions were very ample and the staff was amazingly courteous, prompt and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised when my boyfriend and I were given a Caminito gift card to use the next time we came in.

Although the restaurant is on the small side, everything seemed to be running smoothly. I would suggest that you make reservations because it fills up quickly and if you plan on going on a Friday or Saturday night, you might not get a table, or might have to wait long. Although I have never eaten Argentinian food, the pasta dish that my boyfriend and I shared tasted authentically Italian. The basil, garlic and other spices were clean and fresh tasting and the pasta was cooked too perfection -- al dente -- and not gluey and stuck together.
