Camp Lejeune Handles Westboro Baptist Church's Discrimination with Maturity

To say that the Marines and supporters at Camp Lejeune have handled the protesting of Westboro Baptist Church with extreme maturity would be an enormous understatement. Many have chosen to meet at different locations to hold their own support our troops and pro-military rallys, refraining from giving the "church their audience and publicity they are hoping for. The Jacksonville Police Department also redirected traffic, maybe to avoid people coming in contact with the anti-military cult. Their attempts at causing violence and anger was been ignored by many. The Jacksonville Daily News reported that five female Westboro protesters appeared at Lejeune, while only 40 counter-protested; which is far less than the 200+ that appeared at the Support Our Troops rally held at the Jacksonville Commons park, avoiding fueling the insanity of Westboro Church and sparing the pubicity they were seeking. The five WBC members made every attempt to cause riots by spitting and stomping on the American flag, but the counter-protesters avoided violence and simply spoke what was right peacefully. Why WBC did not receive a citation or arrest for desecrating the flag baffles many. But what this group does no realize is that they would not have the rights and freedom to protest without the military fighting for that freedom.
