Hollywood star Tom Hanks endorsed Barrack Obama on a video posted on his Myspace page. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton is still trolling Peter Scolari on Friendster.com for his endorsement.
Not to miss out, former Georgia Congressman Bob Barr announced he is running for president on the Libertarian Party ticket, stating that if he wins, he would freeze discretionary spending, begin withdrawing troops from Iraq, slash spending at federal agencies and give everyone a magical pony. He's asking people to vote for him. But since he's libertarian, he can't force us, so we'll be fine. He's announced his first act will be to begin an outreach program to Ron Paul and Ralph Nader.
Ahmed Yousef, chief political adviser to the Prime Minister of Hamas, endorsed Barack Obama in a radio interview. Then George McGovern endorsed him. The jury is out over which endorsement is the more damaging.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has invited the next United States president to debate him at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Obama was going to accept, until he found out the debate would be on FOX News.
In a surprise move, the formerly neutral John Edwards came out and endorsed Barack Obama. John Edwards said that when it came to exploiting class warfare, Obama was his kind of guy.
A poll came out in May that either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton would beat John McCain in the presidential race. But the poll also shows that an overwhelming majority of Democrats want them to team-up on a "dream ticket", in which case they would kill each other and McCain wins.
One of Barack Obama's messages during May was that the US just needs to find some areas of common interest with Iran andthat wehave to be "bold enough" to listen to Iran. Considering that for 20 years Obama's church has been anti-Israel and anti-American, I don't think I want to know what that common interest might be.
The June/July issue of Men's Fitness magazine named Barack Obama one of its "25 Fittest Guys in America". How does he stay so fit? By dodging all that criticism. In a related story, AARP magazine named John McCain as its "Curmudgeon of the Year." And American Kennel Magazine named Hillary---oh, let's not go there.
Former President Bill Clinton, in defending Hillary's decision to remain in the race, argued that the liberal media was unfair to her. First it was the "vast right-wing conspiracy" now it's a "vast left-wing conspiracy." Man, the Clintons can't catch a break.
Barack Obama attempted to compare his promise to talk with leaders hostile to American with John F. Kennedy's 1961 Vienna Summit with Nikita Khrushchev. What Obama forgot to mention was that 30 days after that summit, Russia built the Berlin Wall, preventing anyone in East Berlin from ever leaving. Hmmm, maybe we can get Obama to hold a summit with the president of Mexico.
According to a new study of primary coverage by the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism the press coverage of John McCain has been decidedly more negative then the coverage of either Obama or Clinton. Said a surprised America, "We're not surprised, actually."
Another survey by The Pew Research Center showed half of white women now have a negative perception of Obama but his negative perception by news reporters remains at 0%.
