Campbell's Kitchen Free Android App Review

Amy Brantley
I love to make the most of my Droid 2 and that includes browsing through the free apps that are available. While looking for recipe apps, I came across the Campbell's Kitchen App. I absolutely love Campbell's products so I decided to download the app. Would this be a great app to add to my recipe app collection or something I quickly deleted?

I'm happy to say that I don't plan to delete this app anytime soon. This has to be one of the funnest recipe apps I have ever downloaded. What I love most about this app is the Quick Ideas features. The Quick Ideas feature has four categories to choose from: Quick & Easy, A Bit Different, So Good (for You) and Mood. Each category has spinning wheels that are like a slot machine. For example, if you use the Quick & Easy category there are three wheels which read: Prep Time, Cook Time and Who's Eating. You then shake your phone and the wheels spin around and give you a recipe that matches the descriptions of the wheels. This is such an awesome way to try new recipes. I also enjoy the Mood category which gives you different types of cuisine, such as Asian or Seafood recipes.

That's not the only great feature about this app. I also love that it has a barcode scanner. You can scan Campbell's products and the app will give you recipes that use that product. This is a great way to quickly find out how to use a product you might find on sale. Lastly, I also love that this app has a shopping list. This makes it easy to look at recipes and make note of the items you need to purchase to make that recipe.

The only downside of this app is there doesn't seem to be a good way to browse recipes. You can search for recipe titles and ingredients, but I have yet to find a way to just browse categories. However, the Quick Ideas feature more than makes up for this missing feature.

I would have to give the Campbell's Kitchen App 4 out 5 stars. I love many of the features this app offers, but wish there was a way to browse recipes. With that being said, I still highly recommend this app to anyone that loves to cook and loves to try new recipes. I plan to use this app any time I'm out of ideas and looking for some great ideas.
