Campgrounds in the Catskill Mountains

Nothing beats the experience of camping under the stars. The Catskill Mountains in New York provide a beautiful backdrop for an escape to nature, and camping is one of the best ways to enjoy your scenic getaway. Camping is one of the easiest ways to get up close and personal with mother nature.

Phoenicia Black Bear Campground is one of the better known campgrounds in the Catskill Mountain area. This particular campground allows visitors to enjoy the great outdoors while enjoying some of life's luxuries. This campground has room for Rvs and tent sites, so there is plenty of room for any traveler's preferred method of camping. Hygiene conscious campers should be pleased with the restrooms and hot showers, and the play-in-the-dirt campers should enjoy the beautiful location and nearby creek. The campground has tents, fishing poles, air mattresses, and other necessities available for rent at the main office. The beauty of nature surrounds the campsite, and animals such as black bears and birds of prey are frequently seen on the campground. Overall, this is a fantastic campsite for any camper.

The Covered Bridge Campsite is ideal for campers that are seeking absolute peace and quiet. The owners of the campground insist that all disruptive campers go elsewhere, so this is a good spot for families or a very small group or couple seeking quiet fun. The tent sites are located on a beautiful riverfront, and the location could not be more perfect for a tranquil trip. The owners of the campsite have raised several farm animals for personal enjoyment or 4-H groups, so a potential visitor should be an animal lover. This is a pet-friendly campsite with reasonable expectations for pet behavior. The rates are also quite reasonable. Overall, this is a fantastic campground, and it is definitely recommended for animal lovers.

Catskill Adventure Resort offers an RV park, tent site, pop-up camper site, and rustic cabins. The cost for a an RV site or a tent site is much lower than the average for the Catskill Mountains area. This campground also allows pets and provides access to restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. This campground is more than likely the most friendly for small children. Amenities include a swimming pool and a playground, and the area is not nearly as wild or secluded as other campgrounds. There is also a convenience store on the property. This is an ideal campground for campers that want to commune with nature while not being smothered by it.

Camping is an activity for the whole family to enjoy, and the kids will never forget their first time sleeping in a tent under the stars. The Catskill Mountains area is a beautiful place to get to know nature. There are several lodging options, but camping is about as close to nature as you can get.
