About Silver Springs Campground:

Silver Springs Campground is located in Rio, Wisconsin, and offers 300 campsites. As a family owned and operated campground, Silver Springs is situated among 65 acres, with a 10 acre lake in the center of all the campsites. The 10 acre spring fed lake includes a sandy beach area with is great for swimming. The camping season at Silver Springs Campground begins in May and runs through September.

Prices & Costs:

Daily rates at Silver Springs Campground are somewhat expensive. A water and electric campsite which includes 2 adults and 3 children costs $34 during the weekdays, and $39 during the weekends. During Holidays the daily rate for this type of campsite costs $40. Cabins cost anywhere from $60 to $90 per day depending on the type of cabin and the day of the week. Additional people cost $5 each per night, and day guests cost $3 per person.

Activities & Recreation:

Silver Springs Campground offers fun filled and adventurous outdoor activities for everyone. The large sandy beach area on the spring fed lake is perfect for swimming or sun bathing, and the nature trail winding through the Pine Forest makes for a great excursion. Silver Springs also offers free fishing with no license required, paddleboat rentals, canoe rentals, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, basketball court, playground areas, bocce ball set, croquet set, an indoor recreation game room which includes a pool table and video games, and free WIFI internet access.

Silver Springs Campground offers clean restrooms and showers, two laundromats, a convenience store for all your wood, ice, and snacks, LP gas, and two dump stations.

Summary and Recommendation:

Silver Springs Campground in Rio, Wisconsin, offered good service when I camped there. They have numerous activities to keep you busy 24-7, and most importantly everything on the campground was very clean and well taken care of. The beach area was great and the water was very clean and clear as well. The nature trail winding through the Pine Forest was very scenic and made for a great excursion and exercise. Overall, aside from costing a few dollars more than your average campground, I would still recommend Silver Spring Campground in Rio, Wisconsin, to anyone looking for a clean and fun filled camping trip near Wisconsin Dells or Madison, Wisconsin.
