Camping at Jordan Lake, Apex, NC

Jordan Lake is a very large lake located in Apex, NC not far from Raleigh and Durham. The lake itself is known for its large bass that fisherman dream of. Whether you are going for a day or a week, Jordan Lake has something for everyone that enjoys nature!

There are many different campgrounds at Jordan Lake. The campgrounds are located all around the lake and each one has a variety of options for travelers. From roasting smore's on the private campsites to public swimming in the lake, there are plenty of activities to do while visiting Jordan Lake. Bring sports equipment, bicycles, running shoes and games and enjoy a visit to the lake. The fee for camping is $15 for non electric sites and $20 for electric sites.

The campsites are all very shaded and are available in electric and non electric form. Each campsite has a gravel tent pad for the tents and you are allowed six adults per campsite. Tents and RV's are welcome at the camogrounds. Each campsite has a fire ring with a grill cover that can be used for grilling foods. Even though gathering wood and sticks to make fires is prohibited, firewood is available at the main entrance of the campgrounds or from park rangers. A large picnic table is also provided at each campsite. There are trash cans provided by the campsites and throughout the campgrounds. Littering is illegal and harmful to the many animals found in the park and at the lake.

All of the campgrounds have bath houses with water, toilets and showers. Some of the campgrounds have playgrounds or swings for children. Public sandy beach areas are provided and some of the campsites have areas for private swimming in the lake.

Park rangers patrol and monitor the campgrounds to ensure a safe visit for everyone. Park rules are enforced by the rangers. Quiet times in the park are from 10 pm to 7 am and gates to the parks do close to provide a secure area for campers after park hours. You can not bring any alcohol, drugs or weapons into the campgrounds at any time. Check out time is 3 pm.

Fishing is allowed in the lake from a boat or from the shore. Boats are not rented at the actual park office, but a local marina rents fishing boats and pontoon boats for a fee. Anyone that is over the age of 16 has to have a valid fishing license to fish in the lake. Bass, catfish and other fish are found in large quanities in the lake!! Bring your fishing poles and tackle with you.
