Can Anyone Figure Out This Team Yet?

Last night (1/19) the New York Rangers put up eight goals! Count them 8! Scoring three goals in the first, two in the second and three more in the third. The Garden was rocking like it was a Metallica Concert!

Getting goals from eight different players the party was on! And strangely none of these eight goal scorers were named Marion Gaborik. Although Gaborik tied his career high in assists in a game with four, having something to do with half the Rangers goals on the night he was a big part in the win.

The night began with a Rangers power play and they would capitalize only 1:27 into play on a Brandon Dubinsky goal. Vinny Prospal would be the next goal scorer for the blue shirts tallying at 7:05 giving the Rangers a 2-0 lead. The Lightning would make it a 2-1 game at the 17:51 mark of the first only to see the Rangers strike again on Chris Dury's eight goal of the season. More important they took a two goal lead into the locker room.

The goals kept a coming in the second and third with Tampa Bay's goalie Antero Nittymaki being pulled after goal number five scored against. NY would give Tampa's rookie back up more of the same.

The last two games the Rangers put up 14 goals for, the three previous 1! Talk about a turn around and hence the title of this article.

Even through that three game stretch where they only scored a goal the last two games have been very impressive for the Rangers who are now 6-2-3 over their last eleven.

The next three outings should be a little more complicated with two of the three being on the road against teams who a close to the blue shirts in the standings.

Flyers are next this Thursday, the team that embarrassed us a month ago on home ice, then off to Montreal the team we put up six against at the beginning of this goal scoring onslaught. I have a feeling this game will be in the back of their heads and their fans on Saturday night. These two games are big as all these teams are only within a few points of each other with the Rangers on top of them.

Monday night we'll be back on home ice against the defending champs, talk about two tuff road games then coming home to greet the champs.

The Rangers hands should be full over the next three battles, but maybe not to a team who can put up fourteen goals in two games, Correct?
