Can You Believe in Creationism and Evolution?

Ashley Paige Johnson
According to Wikipedia, Creationism is the religious belief, that humanity, life, the Earth, and the Universe are the creation of a supernatural agency. The Bible is the basis and outline for how Earth, the universe, man, and all living creatures came to existence. "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth", Genesis 1:1 according to BibleGateway, NKJV, tells us that God was the Creator of all things and performed these miracles in six days. Controversy on the six day creation is battled between evolutionists and creationists, but might be simply explained in 2 Peter 3:8, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

God created Adam, then created Eve from his rib. They went on to have children. Later came the Great Flood where the Lord wiped the Earth clean except for Noah and his family, along with pairs of every creature that roamed. A global flood has now been proven to have happened scientifically by geological layers. I won't go into much more detail, but many parts of the Bible have been proven by scientific measures and cannot be denied.

Again in Wikipedia, Evolution is the change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms through successive generations. There are many different types of Evolutionists and many different ways of combating each issue. Darwin wrote one of the first theories of Evolution. Fossils and skeletons both date the Earth to being much older than the Bible leads most to believe. Again, another fact that cannot be denied. The question many ask is can you believe in Creationism and Evolution at the same time?

There are those that say "if you believe in one, then you cannot believe in the other". Everyone has their own opinion and am sure they can find facts to support any argument they may have. As for me, I believe that Christ our Lord came and died for our sins. If God made man in his image, then Jesus himself looked just like a man, not some monkey figure. But here is another question, how do you then argue with pure skeleton findings of the ape, to the ape that was able to stand upright, and on and on? I believe that God has no boundaries nor limits, which means he very possibly could have given us the ability to adapt to whatever surrounding we are in. In every part of the Earth, man has different features and some races have more bones in their bodies than others. Could that be a way of adapting, or evolving?

The Bible was written in parables, which are basically narratives. It is funny that so many of these "stories" now coincide with scientific evidence of their existence. The God I serve can do anything, more than our human minds could imagine. That is why we couldn't possibly have all the answers to how this happened, and how that happened. We couldn't even begin to comprehend how He works and how he created this world we live in. We are not meant to understand everything, that is why He is God, and why we should look to Him for answers. We could search forever and try to prove or disprove the Bible and Evolution, but the fact remains that both contain happenings that have been confirmed. Some Christian are very argumentative and try to put God in a shoebox. God can do whatever he wants, when he wants. It really doesn't matter whether we believe it or not, but facts are facts and truth is truth.

Exactly, and also here is a tid bit. The word dragon is mentioned in the Bible time and time again, and also mentions a "Leviathan". It is really interesting if you pick a topic and really research the Bible on what you can find! Who knows!?

I rationalized this out as a kid: There were no men in the time of dinosaurs, and dinos certainly couldn't write, so maybe God created them and then man after they died out. I was an odd kid with too much time on my hands, as you can see, but it made sense then, darn it!
Also, I've just yesterday (funny, right?) learned that the only reason Creation isn't scientific theory is that divine actions cannot be tested, and therefore cannot be proven or proven incorrect.
