Can a Business Coach Help You Succeed?

Ryanick Paige
Many people have never heard of a business coach. The purpose of a business coach is the find out what the owner would like his business to become and then set up plan to show the owner how to get the business to that level. Generally, a consultation is set up where the business owner discusses the goals he would like to meet for the business. The business coach then accesses the seriousness of the owner and devises a plan for the business to reach these goals.

Many business owners can envision where they would like their business to be in the future but have no idea how to get it there. Change is often a problem with business owners. They can see that what they are doing right now is making their business work and do not understand why change is necessary to take the business to the desired level.

A good coach is not always going to agree with a business owner. Their job is to direct them in reaching their goals not to think every idea is a good one. A business coach will show you how to work less hours, bring in a higher profit, and have a more successful business. A business coach holds no sentimental value to the business and can often see things more clearly and they think outside of the box. They will see fresh ideas ad be able to give you valuable insight into your day-to-day activities and long-term goals.

There are many things you can expect from your business coach. They will hold you accountable for your actions that are detrimental to your company's success. They will push you forward in taking your company into the next phase of development. They will be your sounding board for ideas and will give honest answers, as they are not your friend but you business associate.

Using a business coach will help you streamline your business and get rid of the waste. A business coach will assist you in pointing you in the right direction on tough decision that requires the help of someone from the outside looking in. The primary goal of a business coach is to help you succeed and meet your goal for the future of your business. If you do not succeed in your business then your business coach does not succeed either. A business coach's success is based on client success.

As Alex stated earlier in the comments, they are considered consultants informally. I am a consultant. Ok, technically, I'm a "production and Efficiency Consultant" now. I take the big picture of now, and the big picture of what the company ultimately wants, and I break it into smaller pictures. I change each piece of the puzzle and reassemble. Voila! Changes made, goals met, money in the bank. A word of caution: We consultants can be pretty expensive. Depending on the company, I can range from free to nearly $70 an hour. Great overview!
