Can Cindy Anthony's Lies Save Daughter Casey from Lethal Injection?

Testifying and Testilying: A Mother Does What a Mother Has to Do

Justice for her precious granddaughter, Caylee Marie or lethal injection for her sociopath daughter, Casey...This is the dilemma Cindy Anthony faces.

All the country and perhaps the world has been glued to the trial of Casey Anthony, a young Florida mother on trial for the murder of her 2 year old daughter, Caylee Marie. Never since the trial of O.J. Simpson has a trial captured the world's interest.

Casey Anthony is accused of murdering her 2 year old daughter Caylee, and is facing first degree murder charges, punished by lethal injection. Casey, a single mom, (the child's natural father has never been disclosed) had been living at home with her family (brother, father and mother) and raising her little daughter with the help of her family.

As with many families when an unexected baby arrives, all the family (especially grandmother Cindy Anthony) fell instantly in love with the infant and happily took over all the responsibilities caring for her.....financially, physically and emotionally.

Grandma Cindy, a nurse knew better. Her daughter Casey had never been responsible. She never received her high school diploma and didn't tell her parents who were planning a party for her. She lied constantly, and stole money and credit cards from family and friends. She pretended to be employed and the family believed and still loved her.

When Casey got pregnant at 19, the family at first denied the signs and symptoms of the pregnancy, but once baby girl Caylee was born, it was love at first sight for the grandparents. Baby Caylee was their litte princess, loved and cherished.

Cindy Anthony devoted herself to the precious little girl, becoming more the mother than grandmother, showering her with gifts while enabling daughter Casey to continue her single life. Did Casey both resent yet accept Cindy's help?

When Cindy worked, Casey was with the little girl and the two lived at the family home, most of the time until leaving on June 16th 2008.

In July 2008, Grandma Cindy finally realizing she hadn't seen little Caylee for weeks despite Casey's lame explanations, tracked her down. Cindy's emotional call after hearing Casey hadn't seen her baby for 31 days, and her handing Casey over to the police were a frightened grandmother's immediate, honest reactions.

Police soon discovered Casey was a pathological liar living a celebratory Bella Vita life style for the 31 days her baby girl had been missing. She had been staying with various friends, competing in Hot Body contests, shopping with stolen credit cards before her mother Cindy eventually caught up with her.

As hope for Caylee being found alive dwindled, Cindy never seemed to give up, still hoping that their family nightmare would end and Caylee had been kidnapped and would be returned alive.

The devoted grandmother organized and participated in searches for her little grand daughter. She appeared on various news and talk shows explaining her plight. She cooperated with authorities. She did everything possible.

In December 2008, six months after little Caylee's reported disappearance, her skeletal remains were found in a wooded swampy area near the Anthony home .Her body was sealed in a plastic bag, duct tape over her nose and mouth. A heart shaped sticker covered her mouth.

Her mother, Casey Anthony has been jailed ever since, and is now on trial for the death of her little girl. She faces first degree murder punishable by death.

The state (prosecution) charges that Caylee died of asphyxiation by chloroform. The motive was to sedate the child so the mother (Casey) could party. Whether a fatal dose of chloroform was accidental or deliberate remains to be proved.

The defense is that little Caylee was discovered drowned in the family pool, by the baby's grandfather who helped hide the body. Casey's lying is explained by a history of implied sexual abuse by her father and brother.

Although forensic experts have practically ruled out death by drowning, and have declared Caylee's death a homicide, the family has recently embraced the defense's drowning and sexual abuse theory mainly for various reasons.

They probably have accepted the fact that Casey killed Caylee, but they do not want her to be executed.

They feel somewhat responsible for Casey's behavior and lies, and they will make excuses for her and love her anyway, no matter what she says about them.

Cindy, Casey's mother is between a rock and a hard place. She seems to have made peace with Casey facing a long prison term and will do, and say anything to save her from execution..

Previously, grand mother Cindy testified the swimming pool area was locked and the ladder to the pool was always down. She prided herself on keeping Caylee and the pool area 100% safe.

Sobbing on the witness stand, she was forced to view bittersweet photos of Caylee and graphic pictures of Caylee's remains while testifying for the prosecution..

Now, testifying for the defense, she suddenly remembers the pool ladder could have been left up that day. She showed photos of a sturdy little Caylee climbing the pool ladder, and a shadowy little girl opening a sliding glass door.

When their home computer showed 84 searches for chloroform, a calm Cindy said she made those searches even though records show, she was at work that day,

All she has to do is to establish reasonable doubt to save her daughters life and she is doing her best to do so.

Cindy is on a mission. Accepting your child as a killer isn't easy. She has nothing more to lose. Now she will jump on any sword and lie when she has to, in order to spare her daughter from execution. She is in mama bear mode, doing what a mother does. Will the jury hold it against her? We shall see.

The sociopath daughter has been set free. Moms and dads, don't let your sons sleep with this gal or you'll never have grandchildren.

    Good insights into the case.

I don't watch either but my daughter had it on one day while we were cleaning and the woman told contradictory stories three times in just an hour. It made me sick to my stomach. As a mother I get the inclination to protect your child but at the expense of your grandchild? I hope I never have to make such a decision.

I agree with you: Cindy does seem to be on a mission to save Casey.

I believe two things about the Casey Anthony case: 1.) She did it; and 2.) In the end she will literally get away with murder. The judge has messed up this case so badly with erroneous rulings that any conviction will be overturned on appeal.

    I don't watch this, I appreciate your update-but can't stomach the evil.
