This article is written from a male point of view. having seen, first hand, how my wife suffered with and dealt with a vaginal yeast infection. Vaginal yeast infections are caused by a small fungus called Candida albicans, which is some fancy medical name.The yeast organisms are abnormally a small fungus, and usually live in small numbers on the skin and just inside the vagina, (that if you're a woman). The warmth and moist climate is ideal for the growth of the fungus under normal conditions, the acidic environment of the vagina will tend to keep the yeast from growing. However,in the event the vagina becomes less acidic, the yeast will grow into a vaginal infection. It is thought that many factors in and of themselves may lead to a vaginal yeast infections. Some of these may be a moisture and irritation of the vaginal area. You should always consult with your family doctor, whenever you feel there is a problem, of this or any other nature.

In my opinion, and based upon what I have read, about 75% (3[4) of all women will during their lifetime have a vaginal yeast infection, at least once.
