Can Harry Potter Keep His Shirt On?

Adoring Fans Want Harry Potter's Wardrobe!

Harry Potter mania in children and adults causes a jump in Harry Potter merchandise sales and puts out the demand for Harry Potter Costumes.

Harry Potter fans are really gearing up for the month of July! Both the new book, "Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows," and the new movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," have already been released this month. As a result, adults and children alike are donning Harry Potter costumes and buying up as much Harry Potter merchandise as they can find.

The demand for Harry Potter clothing and merchandise is so great that retailers across the United States are finding it difficult to keep their shelves fully stocked with Harry Potter clothes and memorabilia.

This leaves one to speculate if the real Harry Potter needs to worry about safeguarding his own original wardrobe at Hogwart's to keep his adoring fans from stealing his original clothing and magic wands. After all, Harry Potter has to wear something when he goes out into the world to cast spells while using his magic wand. He can't go around being naked or giving his shirt off his back!

I don't think a nude Harry Potter would sit very well with either his adoring fans or the people who teach at Hogwart's, unless he chose to live at a private nudist beach resort until he could buy himself a new wardrobe that appeared less alluring to his fans.

Who knows? The brief sudden appearance of Harry Potter mingling around unclothed and signing autographs at a private nudist beach resort might help boost his popularity and the sales of his books and DVD movies, not to mention the possibility of finding several new girlfriends.

"We're seeing adult Harry Potter costumes, Harry Potter robes and other Harry Potter merchandise sell more than some of the traditional best selling costumes and dress up outfits," said Shari McConahay, Vice President of Annie's Costumes. "If you or your children want to dress up as a Harry Potter character for Halloween, it may be a good idea to buy your costumes now."

Fans are also sporting Harry Potter robes during parties themed after the popular boy wizard. "From children's birthday parties to get-togethers to celebrate the movie's release, children and adult Harry Potter costumes and Harry Potter merchandise are extremely popular", McConahay added.

And, the Harry Potter phenomenon shows no signs of slowing down. The first four Potter movies have grossed more than $3 billion worldwide, and sales for the new book expect to top 12 million copies. Harry Potter has also inspired a video game and there's a theme park planned for Orlando, FL by 2010.
