Can the Internet Be a Godsend at Christmas?

Hannah
I, like many others, have a beef with the Internet on many levels, however I found that the Internet can actually be a Godsend at Christmas time. So how will the Internet help us this year? Let's take a look.

More Time With Family-

Yes, if done in the right way, the Internet can give you more time with kids and family. This is especially important during the holidays. If you use the Internet to purchase most of your gifts this can save a lot of time. If you surf the Internet at night after the kids are in bed, or when they are out and about with their friends on the weekend, you won't be sacrificing time with them. With so many parents working these days this saving of precious time can be valuable.

Saving Money on Gas-

Although prices on gas have come down quite a bit recently, the economy is still hurting. People are out of work, and every penny counts. So, then why spend your money on gas running all over town to find that perfect gift? Exactly, you don't have to. Places like Ebay, Amazon, Kmart, Wal-Mart, JC Penny, Best buy, Circuit City, Barnes and Noble, and thousands of other retailers have sites in which you can buy form the comfort of your own home. Best of all it's delivered to your own front door.

Safety-

Yes, I said safety. Many states in the U.S. have bitter cold, nasty weather this time of year. The roads are icy and can be unsafe. If you buy online you don't have to go out in your car in the cold, and risk a possible accident. Never mind how many people drink and drive this time of year! You also don't risk getting robbed or attacked in the mall parking lots. Let's face it we all know this is a dangerous time of the year to shop. Those perpetrators are just lying in wait to grab all your goodies while your putting them in your car. So, stay safe, warm, and comfortable and order online.

Presents Get Shipped Out When Purchased-

Many people these days have family out of state. When Christmastime comes they not only have to go and purchase a gift, they have to wrap it, and ship it. This means long lines at the post office. Again, having to go out one more time to somewhere you really don't want to be. Buy a gift online and they will ship it directly to who ever you bought the gift for. Many retailers or sellers will provide gift-wrapping if you request it. What could be better than that!

Not Feeling So Stressed-

This is the best of all. Because everything is done simply, and effectively on line you are not stressed running around stores with nasty, pushy people. As we all know people have been killed and hurt because of people stampedes over discounts and specials. Between the people, traffic, nasty weather, and the economy, buying online just makes a lot of sense, especially this year when things are so tough.

So, there you have it, why the Internet can truly be a Godsend this Christmas, or next!

Very good points, and besides shipping costs, the Internet is my best friend for Christmas shopping. I did all of mine online this year, and got it out of the way, and can now actually enjoy Christmas.
