Can Internet Gurus Be Trusted?

Tony garcia
There are a lot of Internet Gurus out there. I imagine many are trustworthy, and many are not. In my experience, even the trustworthy ones can be deceiving. I have only had dealings with a few. All I can say is, "I have gained nothing from any of them."

My first experience was with Site Build It (SBI). It seems to have helped thousands of people. Great, because I spent several Hours on this site, trying to learn everything. I looked at the instructional videos, and they kept repeating one thing. "SBI is so user friendly, even if you have no internet experience, you will be able to setup your own personal site in a matter of hours."

Now let me say that I lost no money in my dealings with them. All I lost was time, which to some people can be equivalent to money. They showed videos of people signing up and arranging their Site Build It web site. It all seemed good.

When it came time for me to set up a site, I didn't know where to begin. Of course I went back, did some reading and listening, but still it was hopeless. I'm no techy, but I have been using the net for years. There were so many links, and terms I just didn't understand. It's not like the site wasn't organized either. It was. It's just that the statement that they kept repeating, in text and in video, was totally misleading.

To make a long story short, I canceled my membership and kept all my pennies.

Another program I gained nothing from was called Project Pay Day. Right off the bat I'll tell you that these people aren't liars. If you're willing to do this you could make some pretty good money. What I will say is that they charge you $34 a month for information that you can get for free, if you know what to search for.

The good thing is that you can sign up for a free trial with them. Once I got what I needed, I discontinued my membership, and was promptly refunded my $34. Basically Project PayDay refers you to a few message boards like Anything 4 Free.com.

Now here's why I say Project PayDay isn't worth it. Anything 4 Free has mods and administrators just like any other forum. People are making all kinds of money with this message board. So if any questions are to be asked, or aid given, the mods and administrators will do all this for free!

Why go to a completely different forum and pay to learn the ropes?

Now, I have to admit, without Project PayDay, I would never have learned about sites like Anything 4 Free. It's just too bad that Anything 4 Free is not for me... Here's what I mean by that. Anything 4 Free is a site where regular people do free offers for each other. In other words, it's a forum where people sign up for to receive free items from any given company. Often times to get the free item, these people are required to bring in a certain amount of referrals.

To do this, people meet on Anything 4 Free to become referrals for each other! The referee will often pay the referral $20, $30 or sometimes even more. That way some lucky guy can get a Playstation 3 for only $200.

There are literally hundreds of people doing this, all buying selling, and going in circles with referrals and referring. It can be really quite confusing. The problem is that some of these people can't be trusted. Anyone can jump out of doing a referral, which can cost a whole slew of people money, or tie up the whole pay process for a line of people.

Another problem is that there are often glitches in the referral process. This is what I hate the most about Anything 4 Free. Sometimes for your referral to go through, there has to be a lot of tampering done with Firewalls, Cookies and other computer systems that I would just rather not touch, if you know what I mean.

Now, I've been on the forum and read several posts where the mods and administrators were trying to explain these problems, and what to do about them. Most of the explanations were too confusing, and unclear. Sometimes it's impossible to get away from explaining things without using techy computer terms. If I tried doing Anything 4 Free, I would just end up messing up, costing someone their cash, and getting banned from the forum forever.

That's why SBI, Project PayDay, and all other Internet Gurus are off my to do list and out of my inbox. Those are probably good ideas for some people, but I think they would only end up costing me thousands.
