Can You Learn to Cook?

Dutch deC
Can you improve your cooking? So many people have wondered out loud about this. Some people claim to not know how to to cook, other just act like they know nothing. But just like with reading, or writing or sports - you learn. Most people now don't even have an excuse - with so many cookbooks on the market for beginning cooks (for example: Martha Stewarts Cooking School Cookbook - released only a couple of days ago) or how about Ina Garten's simple and easy recipes in her Barefoot Contessa Recipes.

Now if you don't want to go out and buy any of these - you could always get them from the library. Then again if your even too lazy that you don't want to go to the library - you could find the information very easily on the web. I've listed a few of my favorite resources when I need a basic recipe, or a tip on something. I also highly suggest if you have iTunes to subscribe to the Cooks Illustrated Podcast. They come out with a video podcast about once a week, and they cover topics on How to Bake Good Bread to How to Frost a Three Layer Cake. Hope all of these links, and shows help you in your search of learning how to cook!
