Can Lil Wayne Reclaim the Throne?

"Best Rapper Alive?"

Mr. New Material
While the self proclaimed "Best Rapper Alive" has been incarcerated, his Young Money camp has been holding him down indefinitely. Lil Wayne has currently been incarcerated for a little over 200 days, needless to say it isn't stopping his comeback momentum. The real question everyone wants to know the answer to is, Can he do it? Can Lil Wayne come straight from jail and still reach number one on the charts? While rumors have been circulating that Lil Wayne will switch styles and WRITE rhymes once again, there is no definite proof of that as of right now.

When Lil Weezy caught the pistol charge on his tour bus, I'm sure he never knew that it would lead to him being behind bars. While the countdown for him to go to jail took place, he methodically set everything into place before his departure. Take a look at his Young Money roster and look at the success they've had withing the last year. With major album sales from Drake and a heavily anticipated album from Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne's name and impression on the rap game remains number one. While Lil Wayne has been criticized for years, for drugs, his association and his way of life, he has always managed to pull through any situation that has been placed in front of him. During his acceleration to the top, critics constantly down talked his way of life and even predicted that he would be in the situation that he is now, incarcerated.

It is clear to see that MUSIC lives in the soul of the incarcerated rapped. Perhaps that is why he was giving a contraband charge in Rikers for having a MP3 player. Most prisoners have shanks (knifes), however, Lil Wayne only had an MP3 player. Although the weapons charge he caught was expected, it still hasn't changed the mind of his true fans. Fans are waiting and counting down the days for when they can see their superstar shine again. Will he be able to take the pressure? On the outside it seems as though nothing rattles the world of Lil Wayne, however; what has the time in prison really done to him as a person and artists? While most rappers that go to prison have been there before, Lil Wayne hasn't. What will his mentality towards music be? Will he be able to reclaim the throne and reign or will he be a victim of his own self, like T.I.? On November 4th 2010, all questions should be answered!
