Can the Miz Win the Royal Rumble as the Number One Entrant?
On the January 23 rd 2012, episode of Monday Night Raw. The Miz earned the number one entry into the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match. The Miz earned the number one entry by failing to defeat R-Truth in a One-On-One Match. With the Royal Rumble less than one week away, The Miz will surely have the odds stacked against him.
The Miz may have the odds stacked against him but as history has shown us it is not impossible to win the Royal Rumble as the number one entrant. Back in 1995, Shawn Michaels was the first WWE Superstar to win the Royal Rumble as the number one entrant. Nine years later in 2004, Chris Beniot became the second WWE Superstar to win the Royal Rumble as the number one entrant.
The number one entry has produced the same number of winners as the number thirty entry. In 2007, The Undertaker became the first WWE Superstar to win the Royal Rumble as the number thirty entrant. One year later in 2008, John Cena became the second WWE Superstar to win the Royal Rumble as the number thirty entrant.
Can The Miz repeat history and become the third WWE Superstar to win the Royal Rumble as the number one entrant? Although it is possible, The Miz will not win the Royal Rumble this year. The Miz could last until the number twenty entrant enters the ring but I see him getting thrown over the top rope by R-Truth. Odds are a SmackDown Superstar will win the Royal Rumble, since John Cena wants his WrestleMania Match against The Rock to be for the WWE Championship. If the WWE plans on moving The Miz to SmackDown, they could allow him to win and challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship.
