Can Razorbacks Choose a Football Focused Head Coach?

Ellen Carter
Arkansas Razorbacks have no head coach, at least, not yet. Confirmed Sources report that Gus Malzahn, who is in New York for the National Football Awards, has interviewed. Confirmed Sources also report that he will be staying in Tulsa. Confirmed Sources seems to have multiple personalities.

Confirmed Sources report that Tommy Bowden of Clemson is a real contender for the Head Hog Job. He's a cool guy. He hasn't had a losing season at Clemson, and he is a Real Head Coach. Of course, none of the winning seasons have been dramatically winning, 6-6, 7-5, 8-4, and 6-5. Still, the Razorbacks are used to that. Their winning seasons have been sort of close, too. Then, again, Confirmed Sources also reports that Clemson likes this barely winning strategy, and will be offering Bowden an extension on his contract.

Confirmed Sources reports that Michigan's Ron English has interviewed to fill Nutt's shoes. I like Ron English. He is not now a head coach, but seems to have what it takes. He has a well-rounded background, cramming a lot of good experiences into the last fifteen years. For the past two years he has served as Defensive Coordinator for Michigan, and was their secondary coach 2004-2005.

In 1995, the same year English earned his master's in education administration, he took on Outside Linebacker Coach position for Northern Arizona. 1996-1997 he served as Secondary Coach, San Diego State. From 1998 to 2002 he was at Arizona State, first as Safety Coach and then as Cornerback Coach. English spent 2003 as Secondary Coach for the Seattle Seahawks.

Apparently Confirmed Sources aren't willing to share the crucial information about how a very experienced coach is supposed to break into the Head Coach positions. Confirmed Sources keep telling us how the same middle-aged guys keep getting recycled through all the head coach positions, and even the experience that comes from losing seems attractive to the Administrative types who are so hot on recycling them.

Tommy Tuberville has not been interviewed, according to Confirmed Sources. He is definitely in the running, according to Confirmed Sources who don't seem to see the conflict there. He was on television, speaking live from New York, confirming that he would be staying at Auburn. On the other hand, Nutt said he would be a Razorback for the indefinite future, then he resigned, the Razorbacks let him, and Mississippi snapped him up, all within three days.

So the next three days may be interesting.

Confirmed Sources can agree that the Razorback hog is a mixed breed feral pig, with long legs, thin neck and prominent spine. Because pigs have few predators in Arkansas, they tend to flourish and their numbers tend to increase. Also known as the Piney-Wood's Rooter, they love the soft root systems of long-leaf pine seedlings, along with a diet that includes everything from acorns to snakes.

It would be wonderful if the Razorback's Administrator can choose a new head coach who can concentrate on football instead of soap-opera style personal drama. Confirmed Sources have had enough food for drama from Mr. Nutt.
