Can Royal Oak Strengthen the Plan for Next Years Arts, Beats, & Eats?

While we all know that this year was the first year that Royal Oak Hosted the Arts, Beats, & Eats many are hoping by next year the plans for parking among other things will be strengthened. The idea for the city think about the neighborhoods affected by the festival was a good one. However over 1900 parking tickets were issued during the festival, and several were not valid.

The city failed to mark the boundaries clearly and several cars were in unknowingly in the wrong area. While the city did all it could to correct the problem it became a major inconvenience for several of the cheerful guests. Those ticketed had to bring their tickets to the police department were each case was reviewed one at a time.

According to publications like the Daily Tribune, the city made over $400,000 in parking alone charging $15 to park in some areas. And though some of the money was returned many are wondering how the event will go next year. Several Royal Oak residents are waiting for news of how the plans for next year will be changed to correct the problem.
