Can Texas Hold Em?

Randy Jones
When some one makes the comment that everything is bigger in Texas chances are they could be right. The Dallas Cowboys have found it to be a bigger than life truth. The opening of the new Cowboys stadium in Arlington Texas may prove to be the greatest move in NFL history. The new stadium also nick named "Jerry Land" or "Jerry World" to many has become the buzz across the Football world as fans stand in amazement at the huge 80,000 capacity retractable dome roof with a Hugh 11,520 square foot 1080p HDTV video monitor... hurr... hurrr... hurrr.

This success in The Cowboys renovation has a cost of a sweet 1.15 billion dollars which came in a couple of different forms such as 933 million in bonds from the city of Arlington and around 105 million from the NFL so with this it would be safe to say Texas loves their football and they love Jerry Jones the Owner and General Manager of this Icon Team. Undoubtedly the project will more than pay for it's self in a couple of seasons with several different events on the schedule for it's use from football to motor sports fans will get many great shows here.

There has been one concern evolving around the gigantic video screen though. Many of the Punter's in the NFL are concerned about the direct impact the screen will have on their kicking abilities. As Tennessee Titan's punter
A.J. Trapasso has already found out. According to NFL officials the screen hangs 5 feet above the required minimum standard and meets all requirements. A statement from Jerry Jones made the point that the screen would only be hit if the kicker's were trying to hit it. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I think it will be exciting to see the rulings on the field for the first season.

On a final note for the sport minded. The new stadium will be hosting The 2010 Cotton Bowl, The 2010 NBA All-Star Game as well as Super Bowl 45 in 2011 and the NCAA Final Four in 2014. I believe the Nation will get great use out of the new structure as well as many great memories to come.
