Can Upstart Saakashvili Help McCain to Win Elections Against Obama?
If Republicans Think Saakashvili Can Show to Americans Who the Next President Should Be, Probably They Are in for a Rude Shock
I knew Bush will be up to something to ratchet up votes for McCain. Only question was how and when.
A 9/11 type of gory domestic drama was out question as America has, though belatedly, learned the truth about it.
So, what is more convenient than whipping up we Americans' ages-old Cold War fears? ( I think we do have a gene incorporated into our chromosomes by now.)
"I was watching Olympics" excuse doesn't hold water. Both Bush and Putin knew what was brewing but still went to watch sports.
Did Columbia forget to teach Saakashvili some basic lessons in statesmanship? That small-fries on the ground don't pull the tail of a sleeping lion even if another "Republican" lion sitting on the tree prompts them to do so?
Saakashvili knew he was picking on a disproportionately powerful adversary of a neighbor who is not benign at all.
He knew his citizens are going to be massacred if his neighbor retaliated.
Still he went on with an ill-conceived (or was it?) attack on South Ossetia.
But if Republicans think that getting some hapless Georgians killed by Russians is the shortest and surest way to White House, they should realize that Americans are wiser than they think and may not let them into Pennsylvania Avenue for decades if they set their hearts to it.
If they think 9/11 can be endlessly repeated at home and abroad in one form or other to hoodwink Americans, Americans have no choice but to forget that Republican party was co-founded by the great Abraham Lincoln.
Tony Blair tried the same trick in UK with the help of his Islamic terrorist friends only to lose his chair. How can Labor party explain their silent support to the idea of establishing shariah courts in Britain? Any way, Brown is doomed in the next election with Thatcherite conservatives expected to make a comeback.
The only difference on this side of the Atlantic is that confirmed conservatives are playing the same trick opportunistically.
I am not surprised. if Republicans can cook up something like 9/11 to assure prolonged Presidency with the support of a goon like Ossama then, they can seek the help of any Satan to assure their victory now.
More absurd is their continuing belief that American voters suffer from microcephalus.
Americans, use your franchise rights wisely! Democracy is pretty serious stuff.
Don't let your patriotism be misdirected by a handful greedy compatriots who won't even mind massacring 3000+ innocents in broad daylight to make money, still think they are our masters and yet show their middle fingers at us.
