Human cloning certainly threatens the principals behind many religious properties, especially the Christian idea of "the soul". Does cloning a human body also clone a human soul? To answer the question we should examine the realities behind the actual process of cloning.
A simple way of explaining the process of cloning is that first a female donor's egg is removed of all DNA material within it. This essentially leaves a "blank" egg. Next the DNA material within the nucleus of another adult cell is transplanted into this "blank" egg. The egg is then implanted into a female womb where it develops normally. The fetus is identical genetically to the adult cell donor.
Having this understanding of the process behind cloning we should ask ourselves, "Do naturally occurring identical twins have their own souls?" I believe the general consensus from all communities is that yes, they do in fact have unique souls. There is no difference between a theoretical cloned human and those naturally occurring identical twins except for age, given that the DNA was taken from an adult donor's cell.
We can clone a human body, but with today's process of cloning such body would possess its own "soul", its own identity, and grow up just as normally as a naturally conceived human being. It is time that we get educated with what is actually being done. I believe the more people who actively seek the actual science and not succumb to half-truth or blatant mistruths propagated by those with a set bias.
