Cancer's Touch

Imogen Rayne AAB BSCOM
I'm here, just waiting to die,
For, I'm trapped in this lonely shell.
The pain is enough to make me cry,
Since, my body has been put through hell.

Because the doctors can't ease the suffering or the pain,
It's hard to be happy, so today I am going to be blue.
Now, that cancer has fully invaded my brain,
Even the treatments and medicines hurt me too.

I may die tomorrow or stay a week,
For only the cancer can truly know.
That my life is over and the future is bleak,
However, my pain will not show.

As I laugh and spend time with those I care for,
Waiting for the day, which I must say good-bye.
Making new memories with those I knew before,
Finally, I will leave this earth and rest on high.
