Candlelight Processional Dining Package 2009 on the Rise in Price

Amanda M. Rose
Walt Disney World has recently announced that they will be running the Candlelight Processional Dining Package again this year for guests. The Candlelight Processional is a very popular and moving event that is held at Epcot each year. The event features a mass choir, joined by a 50-piece live orchestra and a celebrity narrator, who tell the story of Christmas in both music and words.

This year there are some changes in the Candlelight Processional compared to years past. This year, guests using the dining package for the event will be charged 2 TS credits per person. The 2 table service credits will include the meal and a special VIP Candlelight Processional seating area.

To justify the 2 TS credits, Walt Disney World will add an appetizer to the meal (along with entree and dessert if on the Disney Dining Plan) and guaranteed VIP seating area to view Illuminations (unclear how the seating will be guaranteed due to the high population of people that use the Candlelight Processional Dining Package).

Are the 2 table service credits a deal breaker for you for the Candlelight Processional Dining Package?

We have never been to the Candlelight Processional, but plan to go this year. We are on the dining plan but do not plan to use our credits. We plan to just pay for the package. When you compare the kind of meal and price of the meal you can get for 2 table services credits (Narcoossees, California Grill), it just doesn't pan out to be worth the 2 TS meals to eat at restaurants that are normally only 1 TS meal. We are going to do the lunch package to make it cheaper also.

I agree with Sheri here. Price rise is good option in my opinion.

Well, I'd rather see the price rise than have a poor quality experience :)

I don't see how they can guarantee the good seating (i.e. view) with that many people either.
