Purchasing bags of the items you need gives you and your child the opportunity to make as many of these candy trains as you want. Make enough to give to each person in your child's class. Also make enough for each child in your family and your relatives family. While you're at it, why not make one for each person in your office.
This Christmas candy train can be made as many ways as you can think, but for the sake of simplicity, I'm going to stay with the traditional candy train. Below is a list of the materials you will need and the instructions on how to put your candy train together. It should take no more than 10 or 15 minutes for the whole process.
Materials For Candy Train
● 4 un-wrapped peppermint candies
● 1 roll of life savers
● 1 individually wrapped Hershey's Rolo chewy caramel
● 1 pack of chewing gum
● 1 wrapped piece of caramel
● 1 wrapped piece of miniature chocolate
● 1 piece of thin ribbon or yarn (red or green)
● Glue gun and glue
Candy Train Instructions
1. To make your candy train, just run a line of glue along the bottom of your life savers and adhere it to the flat side of the pack of chewing gum.
2. Put a drop of glue under the bottom of a piece of caramel and attach it to the top end of the roll of life savers.
3. Next you can glue the miniature piece of wrapped chocolate to the top of the caramel.
4. Now is time to glue the wheels on your candy train, which are the 4 pieces of un-wrapped peppermint candies.
5. The last piece to go on will be the Hershey's Rolo chewy caramel, which is the smokestack. Place enough glue to the wide end of the wrapped candy then place it on the front end of the life saver roll.
Let all of this dry, which will be pretty quick, then you can go on to make another candy train. Use your imagination when it comes to your materials, you don't always have to go with life savers, peppermint and caramel candy.
Any candy in a roll or stack can make the body of your candy train... Even a roll of pennies or nickels, if you want to give them out as gifts. If you want to make them into Christmas tree ornaments, loop the thin piece of ribbon or yarn and glue it to the top of the miniature chocolate candy piece.
