After peeling put in water with 2 Tbsp of canning salt and 2 Tbsp vinegar, this will keep your pears from turning brown.
Slice oranges across so that when they are sliced they look like wheels.
Drain the water off of the pears when you are ready to pack them in your canning jars.
Pack the pears in jars with orange slices around the outside (so you can see them through the jar) (they look really nice).
You will want to put an orange slices on the bottom and top of the pears and also in between the pears.
Brine: 4 cups of water and 2 cups of sugar - bring to a boil and pour the hot brine over the pears and orange wheels.
Clean the edge of your jars, seal put the rim on. Put in a hot water bath. Pints - 25 minutes; Quarts 30 minute.
Enjoy
