Canon MP620 Review: A Multi-Feature Printer for the Home Office

Rosetta Thomas
The Canon MP620 is one of many multi-feature printers that have come out. This means that it has a standard printer combined with copier, photo printer, and scanners combined. More and more people are working at home or require a printer for recreational needs. This means that there is a lot of competition amongst the retailers. Here is what you can expect from the Canon MP620.

It never stops being amazing how much one little machine can do. The Canon MP620 comes in at 18 lbs and is roughly 18x15x7 inches. There is a lot of power packed into this little box. This makes it ideal for home offices or even for some student's dorm rooms. You can even retract the paper trays when not using them in order to make more space. You may be doing this because the Canon MP620 has trays: one for standard paper and the other for photo paper. One of the best features of the Canon MP620 is that it works on a wireless system, which means that you can put it anywhere in your house. The design of the Canon MP620 overall is sleek and practical for the home office.

When it comes to actually using the Canon MP620, it is pretty simple. There is an electronic manual and a simple set up. For printing standard documents, the Canon MP620 is pretty quick and will suit most home-office needs. Black and white documents print at about 2.3 seconds per page and color at 3.6. The quality of the copier is amazing and you can get nearly identical duplicates from the Canon MP620. With photo printing, you have the choice of printing directly from the memory stick or from your computer. The Canon MP620 actually comes with a program so you can edit your photos before printing. It's a basic program but it will get rid of the red eye and do other things like cropping. What's great about the photo printing on the Canon MP620 is that there is a small LCD screen for previewing before you print. This could save you wasted photo paper and ink. You can print a 4x6 photo in about 39 seconds.

Overall, I'd say that the Canon MP620 does the job well. The only thing it seems to be missing for home office use is a fax machine, but most people are using emails now anyway. I'd definitely recommend the Canon MP620 as a gift for Christmas, especially for a family member. Then you'll get to use it too!
