It is 5.0 mega pixels. It has 5X digital zoom, 3X optical zoom, on camera cropping, color mode, different scene settings, lighting options, timing options, etc. When you take a picture with this camera you get the choice of adjusting to your environment. For instance you can adjust your flash mode in case you do not want any flash to be used when taking the picture. You can also adjust the white balance in the picture. Not many cameras allow you to adjust so many features like this camera. The exposure compensation can be adjusted easily also. All of these features do not require you to access the menu which is easy because they are all located around the camera. When you get the camera situated and take a picture you will notice that you can change the focus. There is center focus which is primarily used, central wide focus, side focus, center and side focus, and left and right focus. These features allow you to adjust focus depending on how many people are going to be in your picture.
When you access the menu you can change the color. For instance you can change it to black and white or sepia. You can choose whether or not you want the date stamped on the pictures too. The software that comes with the camera is very easy to use. The only problem I find is that it takes a while to load if you obtain a large amount of pictures. The best part of the camera itself is the quality of the pictures. You will not be able to see all the details until you transfer them to your computer. When they are loaded onto the EasyShare software you will be able to print them, change the lighting, balance, brightness, size, and add effects. It's a good idea to use this software to your advantages. You will be able to make your pictures exactly how you like them without having someone else do it for you.
Kodak is a great company to work with. They are great for beginners and all sorts of people. When you want to print your pictures you can do it through the EasyShare software you have on your computer or you can go online and do it. When you register your camera you can choose whether or not you want to receive offers from Kodak. You should choose to do this because you will get great offers. Just this past summer they held a contest you could play everyday and I won four times. You can win all sorts of great items for your pictures. They also provide a great deal of technical help. If I ever had a problem with this camera I'm 100% positive that I would be able to receive information in a timely manner.
