It is time to go to bed, I will never get to sleep,
Santa is coming in the morning, and if I don't my presents he will keep.
My eyes shutter as I try to keep them closed tight,
I keep hearing the sleigh bells all through this long night.
Don't want to be the only child where Santa doesn't stop,
how do the others sleep knowing the roof is where he will be atop.
I should count to three maybe I will then rise,
and see that night has passed and a quick night to my surprise.
I will check if he ate my cookies and read my note,
Then go outside to check the weather and wait for the snow to hit my coat.
But until that time I will just lay here and try to catch my zees,
I don't want Santa missing my house and forgetting about our tree.
