Canvas Curtain Panels You Can Make Yourself

To Make Your Own Sliding Curtain Panels From Canvas You Will Need:

36 to 44 inch wide canvas by the yard

Grommets or track curtain clips

No Sew or sewing machine

Paints (optional)

So the first step is to measure how tall you need your sliding curtain panels to be. Add on an inch or two so you have room to hem.

If you want to create custom sliding curtain panels that can also double as a mosaic or simply have an image on them you have a few options.

If you buy a pre primed canvas piece by the yard you can paint right onto it. These curtain panels will always be hanging flat, they do not fold or pull back like traditional curtains, so they are a great way to create contemporary look on your windows.

If you are using a natural unprimed canvas you can paint on it with fabric paint. You can also use photo transfer paper and iron on images ot the canvas to completely customize your canvas sliding curtain panels.

As you can see the options are endless for customizing your sliding fabric panels! You do not even have to use canvas.

Now, use the new sew or your swing machine to hem the top and bottom of the canvas sliding curtain panel.

Along the top it is easiest to use café curtains or those clip on track curtain clips. You can find both of these at Ikea.

Now, slide yoru curtain clips onto yoru curtain track system and you can slide the vertical panels back and forth as you want or need to blackout light.

Tip: If you can use a triple line curtain track system. This will allow you three tracks to slide your canvas curtain panels on. Ikea also sells these.

If you are using a traditional curtain rod and café clips, then buy a double curtain rod. This will also you to move your curtain panels into more positions.
