Cap & Trade Aka Rob & Enslave ?
In Rebuttal to Carbon Tax
What's the difference,
Just the words used
To lure you to your doom?
" Put your trust in us, chums,
We have new taxes in store for you.
The UN will take good care of your wealth,
I mean your health.
Would a nice snake lie?
Surely not,
Just shut your eyes and relax.
We're just talking about a little more tax.
Tremble in fear.
Carbon dioxide,
Though it has been around
For thousands of years,
Is now out to get you.
We are going to save you from the air,
God created.
Carbon dioxide is the part of the air
Plants inhale in order to live.
Indirectly we will be taxing oxygen,
The air plants exhale,
Before the plant gets a sniff of the CO2.
Carbon monoxide is the bad boy;
It will turn you blue".
We apologize folks,
The teleprompter malfunctioned,
Or someone spiked the speakers coffee.
Calm down people;
We have your thoughts in mind.
Just one more little tax,
Then we will let you be.
How long did you expect us
To be so nice
As to let plants breathe for free?

Great poem. There are more taxes on the horizon. I'm just interested in how creative they'll be. (We have gas tax...if they legalized prostitution would there be.....an as..oh, never mind.)
