Capital Jazz Festival

The Capital Jazz Festival is currently in its fourth year and is back with an even more exciting list of artists. Among the most notable names are Mint Condition, Kenny G, The Brand New Heavies, Brian Culbertson, Rachelle Ferrell, Patti Labelle, Basia, Esperanza Spaulding, Cameo, Raphael Saadiq, The Family Stone, Gladys Knight, and Sinbad.

For true music fans, this promises to be a truly exciting event filled with some of the best sounds in music today. These artists have real talent, staying power, and the ability to turn any song into a journey into the world of smooth sounds, creative riffs, and powerful performances. Slated to run from June 4-6, 2010, you would be well advised to purchase your tickets now as they are going VERY fast.

Unique to this year's festival is the Catch-A-Rising-Star showcase featuring up-and-coming artists including Brian Simpson, B.K. Jackson, U-Nam, Lin Rountree, Althea Rene, and Phaze II. The Festival marketplace offers arts and crafts, a food court, artist workshops, and meet-and-greets.

Friday night opens up the festival with Gladys Knight and comedy by Sinbad. It should be a wonderful introduction to what's in store for those who are seeking a gratifying music concert experience.
