Your car will remain in a good condition if you spend time taking care of it every week. Fluids can run out, tires may need replacement, you just have to check up on your car every week to keep it in good condition. Every time you hear a strange noise, you should check up on it and get it fixed right away because if there's a noise, something is wrong with your car. I learned this the hard way. I heard a noise in my car but I kept driving and didn't check on it and my tire blew in the middle of the freeway. The noise was my tire peeling off. This was dangerous and stressful for me. Driving can be very dangerous and it can kill you. Therefore, you need to pay special attention to your car.
The first step to caring for your car is to learn the different things that your car needs. You should learn where all the fluids pouring sites are located and what fluid go into it. You should learn how to check the fluid level on your own. You should know the different types of fluids that your car needs and what happens if you are low on it. You should know that it's never OK to drive with low level of oil, brake fluid, and coolant. Driving with low levels of these fluid will cause your car's engine to be ruin and you may have to change your engine which will cost thousands. Your car is like your body, it needs fluids to run properly. You can't last a day without drinking some sort of fluids. This is the same with your car. You can die from dehydration and the same goes with your car.
You should find out what type of oil your car uses and then you should buy one extra bottle and put it in the trunk for uses. When you're traveling far, your car will need some more oil and coolant. Small car uses 5w30 and van uses 5w40. It's all different with each car. You have to look at the oil change receipt from your last oil change to find out. You can ask your husband if he does your oil change. The clerk at any auto sales store can check for you too. You have to use the same kind of oil for your car. Any other type will ruin your engine.
Your oil fluid is one of the most important fluid for your car. Your car will make loud noise, jump if you don't have enough oil in it. When you hear this noise, you simply pour some more oil in and you'll be set to go. Do not drive another feet if you hear noises though. You should stop and check your oil level and pour in some more oil. When pouring in oil , do not pour in more than half a bottle because you won't need that much. Your car probably is low but it's not completely empty. Over pouring can lead to problem too.
You have to check your coolant level often too. Without enough coolant level, your car can make loud noises and jump. This happens to my car once. You can buy an extra bottle of coolant and put it in your trunk. The store clerk can tell you which type of coolant you need when you tell them the type of car you drive. The break fluid in your car need to be check often too. Without sufficient brake fluid, your brake won't work that effectively.
