Carlashes are the latest hot product to flutter into the automotive market. Going beyond mascara and fake eyelashes, girly girls are getting car eyelashes make eyes at oncoming traffic. Accompanying crystal liner gives headlights that extra something special, just like eyeliner makes eyes more noticeable.

What Are Car Eyelashes?

For those who can't leave home without their eye makeup, Carlashes are car cosmetics for headlights. Eyelashes and crystal liner give any vehicle a personalized feminine touch. The products is sold by a new company formed in January 2010 called Turbo Style Products. The Carlashes website claims they are the leading supplier of "female automotive aftermarket products."

Will Carlashes Fit Any Car?

Carlashes fit on the headlights of most vehicles. There are several different styles and shapes. Buyers specify the make, model and year of their vehicle to find the ideal Carlash style for their car, truck or SUV.

How Do Carlashes Go On?

Much like false eyelashes, Carlashes use adhesive to affix them to each headlight. Carlashes attached with 3M double sided automotive trip tape. It is the same tape used to attach exterior trim on vehicles, wind guards, reflectors, mirrors and bug guards.

Can Carlashes Take Washes and Freeway Driving?

The Carlash people indicate Carlashes will survive a ride through the car wash if they are properly applied. Under normal driving conditions, these feminine lashes should remain affixed to the car.

Is it Easy to Remove Carlashes

It's a breeze to take off Carlashes and it's probably less painful than removing fake eyelashes. Slowly peel the lashes off the headlights. If the tape sticks to the car, remove the residue by rolling it with a finger or thumb. Stubborn stickiness comes off with a citrus cleaner or tar and bug remover spray.

Will Carlashes Cause Damage?

Since 3M tape is used to affix many other aftermarket items, it is unlikely the adhesive will harm the car paint, glass or chrome. Even false eyelashes take an eyelash or two on the way off!

This girly girl is unsure about the idea of car eyelashes. While they look cute, they might be distracting to male vehicles in the other lane. If one of the headlights wink, there could be a collision...
